Welcome to the 2017 MLA Annual Conference! This year’s theme is Radical Librarianship - the power of libraries to provide access to the truth, strengthen our community voices, create opportunity for exploration and innovation, and assist our patrons to build a better future. Libraries have always been radical, but what does Radical Librarianship mean for us today? Join us at the 2017 MLA Annual Conference to help shape that conversation!
You may not know that one of the busiest interlibrary loan operations in the country is headquartered right in Minnesota. Minitex, located at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities campus, began 46 years ago based on the radical idea that everyone should have equal access to information. It continues to stay on the cutting edge of new trends in interlibrary loan. This session will include some history of the service, stories of successful collaboration in our region, comments from happy patrons, and a vision of interlibrary loan in the future. Learn more about how our network stays relevant in a changing library landscape.
Carol Nelson has been working at Minitex for over 30 years. Her current responsibilities include managing the University's ILL Lending division (Documents to U), electronic delivery, and the Resource Sharing website.
