Welcome to the 2017 MLA Annual Conference! This year’s theme is Radical Librarianship - the power of libraries to provide access to the truth, strengthen our community voices, create opportunity for exploration and innovation, and assist our patrons to build a better future. Libraries have always been radical, but what does Radical Librarianship mean for us today? Join us at the 2017 MLA Annual Conference to help shape that conversation!

Transforming Summer Reading: Using Outcomes to Create More Impactful Summer Reading Programs

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Youth librarians know their Summer Reading and Summer Learning Programs make a difference in the lives of the children they serve. But how can libraries more effectively translate the impact of this work to their communities? Join Youth Services Manager Renee Grassi and Youth Programming and Outreach Librarian Julia Carlis to learn how Dakota County Library's Youth Team implemented outcome measurement and reimagined their Summer Reading Program. Explore strategies for program assessment and evaluation, and learn how librarians can use these strategies to transform their library's summer programs and advocate for their value to the community.
