Welcome to the 2017 MLA Annual Conference! This year’s theme is Radical Librarianship - the power of libraries to provide access to the truth, strengthen our community voices, create opportunity for exploration and innovation, and assist our patrons to build a better future. Libraries have always been radical, but what does Radical Librarianship mean for us today? Join us at the 2017 MLA Annual Conference to help shape that conversation!

MNLINK: May the Source Be With You

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Many Minnesotans enjoy the magic of interlibrary loans -- they request a book from afar, and voila! it appears at their local library. But how does it get there? What are best practices for requesting items? What does it look like behind the scenes? How many people touch the item being sent and returned. Our Star Wars themed session will compel you to ask R2D2 to send an ILL request to be delivered to your home star. You will follow Yoda through the process of selecting an item to check out from MNLINK, and then watch the item on its journey to the swamps of Dagobah. This will be an innovative, light-hearted, but informational session that will make ILLs interesting!
